Description
The Vibra‑Stop V6 Kit is the ultimate vibration‑reduction system for outboard‑powered boats. Once installed, it fully insulates the outboard engine from the hull, creating a flexible elastomeric mount that dissipates vibration energy instead of transferring it into the boat. The result is a smoother, quieter, more refined ride — especially noticeable on alloy hulls.
What’s in the Kit:
- 4 × Stainless Steel Cup Washers
- 4 × Urethane Stepped Bushes
- 4 × Aluminium Bushes
- 2 × Vibra-Stop Backing Pads
- 1 × Earth Lead & Stud
Optional extras: anodised aluminium keys (for 140HP+ outboards) and retrofit bushes.
What the System Does:
The Kit isolates the outboard from the transom using a combination of urethane bushes, aluminium sleeves, and backing pads. This prevents vibration from transferring directly into the hull — the main cause of alloy‑boat resonance and “engine buzz.” The stainless cup washers retain the bush at the front, while the backing pads sit between the motor and the boat to further dampen vibration.
Why It Works:
- The urethane stepped bushes act as the primary vibration absorber.
- Aluminium bushes provide structural support while maintaining isolation.
- Cup washers ensure the bush is retained without metal‑to‑metal contact.
- Backing pads prevent vibration transfer at the engine bracket.
- The earth lead ensures correct bonding between engine and hull.
Ideal For:
- New engine installations
- Repowers
- Full transom refits
- Boats suffering from hull‑borne resonance or engine vibration
Key Advantages:
- Significantly reduces vibration and noise
- Prevents resonance in alloy hulls
- Creates a smoother, more comfortable ride
- Protects transom structure from uneven load transfer
- Compatible with most outboards and transom thicknesses (20 to 70 mm available)
Important Notes:
- Engines 140hp and above require anodised aluminium keys for correct load distribution.
- Stainless cup washers must not contact the hull.
- Torque settings must be checked initially at 10 hours, then every 100 hours.
